The relationship between the US and Canada

The relationship between Canada and the United States has historically been extensive, given the fact that both Countries are geographic neighbors, share the same border, and their increasingly close cultural, economic and ethical similarities. Although both countries have shared similar cultural and ethical behavior, their use of the English language differs when it comes to certain variations of British words vs American words, even though geographically, they are much closer, Canada shares more British words than American words.

Their shared economic and cultural past has resulted in one of the most stable and mutually beneficial international relationships in the world. For both countries, the level of trade with the other is at the top of the annual combined import-export total. Each year the figures are constantly and consistently increasing when it comes to Tourism and migration between the two countries.

Canada & U.S. Economic Growth and Relationship

There has been a long economic history of investment between Canada and the U.S. The Canada–US two-way merchandise trade is the largest bilateral trading relationship in the world, totaling $673 billion in 2017. Exports were $340.7 billion, while imports were $332.3 billion.

These are colossal mutually beneficial figures for the U.S. and Canada that would never have been made possible if it wasn’t for their historically and presently strong economic relationship.

What the E-2 Visa does for Canadian Nationals

Canada has a treaty with the United States which gives Canadian nationals the opportunity to obtain E-2 visas. The E-2 visa is a non-immigrant visa that is issued for a maximum of 5 years (60 months). It is quite typical for an E-2 visa to be issued for 2 years (not 5), and for nationals of Canada, the E visas can be renewed indefinitely assuming you still qualify. All E-2 visa applications must be submitted with a comprehensive 5-year business plan. The E-2 Visa Business Plan must include financial projections, a market and industry analysis, competitor analysis, an executive summary, a 5-year hiring plan, and much more.

JDC Consultancy Client Review – US Consulate Canada

After initially trying to put my business plan together myself in an effort to obtain my E2 Investor Visa I quickly realized I was in over my head. I initially approached another firm that kept complicating the process and kept trying to “scare” me into buying more consulting time.

I walked away and didn’t think I’d ever be able to put this together. Then I was introduced to JDC Consultancy and everything changed. For a flat fee they put together my entire E2 business plan from beginning to end including the financials. They guided me step by step throughout the process and offered great insight into my company as well.

I’m incredibly grateful and fortunate for having worked with them. I highly recommend their services.
