USCIS has an Updated and Improved Website that Includes Enhanced Tools

USCIS Updated Website

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) unveiled its updated website that has a fresh new layout as well as a vast improvement to its Case Status tool on Friday, November 7, 2014. The improvements made to the website give it a new look and feel as well as an easier to follow layout that will make things less confusing for the average user. The website improvements are intended to reduce the amount of phone calls needed regarding questions on how to use the website as well as provide information on citizenship and immigration visas. As in the past, the entire website is available in Spanish by clicking on the “Espanol” link at the top right corner of the website.

Overview of USCIS Website Enhancements

One of the best new website enhancements is the ability to access the Case Status tool via a mobile device such as a smart phone, iPad or tablet. The Case Status tool allows users to track their visa application or petition to determine which step in the immigration process it has moved to. The Case Status tool has been updated to show case history, next steps and has been written in clearer, easy to understand language. Some other tools on the website include assistance with online forms, making an appointment, locating a USCIS office, changing your address and verifying eligibility for yourself or an employee to work in the U.S.

Listening to its Customers

Most of the improvements made to the USCIS website were based on customer feedback, such as updates to the Change of Address and e-Request tools. The website still has familiar information sources such as USCIS news, outreach events, educational webinars, and other services offered by USCIS.
